Roof overhangs, no normal rain penetrates the seating areas, only way when a strong hurricane wind creates horizontal rain. Rubber roofing guaranteed for 50 years pvc roof edging & gutter is installed. Roof will not drip as 3 sides pvc edging is raised one centimetre approx above rubber with a slight slope on 4th side running water to gutter & soakaway. all area under roof remains dry with exception of horizontal rain, which case one would not be in the garden. Side slat gaps can be as small as 5mm, gaps needed for air circulation
